This is another 'License To Dissent'-related piece. One of the characters, basically, in his Persephonese Imperial Army days.

And it's finally finished. This appears to be my first (moderate) success on the digital painting front. There is, of course, a lot wrong here and a lot that could be improved, but you have to draw the line somewhere (haha), and if I were to draw any more lines here, I think there's a reasonable chance I might wear my mouse out!

Edit (29/02/12): and a small bit of cropping as all the dead space on the background was really bugging me. I've also reduced the resolution and the file size of the download version as I doubt we really need a 2MB file!

Download for the full fullview.

Wow! Lots of awesome details on the armor and weapons. Seems like maybe his feet should be somewhat larger but I'm no expert of human anatomy. With all that hard work on the character, the background obviously wasn't a priority. It looks like he's posing in someones front yard  Maybe a foggy background would make the enviroment seem more hostile.

Thanks. I kept the background simple because I didn't want it dominating over the figure, basically.
